Scoring and Ranking

Rules of the Game

Rule 1: There is no crying in baseball

How to Play

Ballers, aka: Shot-Callers, make three daily predictions:

  • Which team will be victorious

  • How many Home Runs, if any, will be hit during the game

  • Which inning the final go-ahead run takes place

Scores will be tallied and posted the following day:

  • The winner(s) get the "Up-for-grabs" item(s)

Scoring Points and Climbing the Leaderboard

Three Daily Call Categories:

  1. Winning Team

  2. Wild Card (Home Run, Stolen Bases, Strike Outs, etc.)

  3. Inning of the Final Go-ahead Run

How to Score a Point

Total Points are determined by the number of "Callers" making predictions.

i.e. - 100 Callers making predictions on a given day = 100 Points for each category*, that day.

Weighted-Scoring

    • Points for each category are divided equally** among those that made the correct call

Example of point distribution:

Winning Team selection - 100 points (1 point per Caller x 100 Callers)

i.e. - 40 correctly call the winning team: 100 divided by 40 = 2.5 Points for each correct call

Home Run selection - 100 points (1 point per Caller x 100 Callers)

i.e. - 20 correctly call the home runs: 100 divided by 20 = 5 Points for each correct call

Final Go-ahead Run selection - 100 points (1 point per Caller x 100 Callers)

i.e. - 10 correctly call the inning of the Final Go-ahead Run: 100 divided by 10 = 10 Points for each correct call

Climbing the Three Leaderboard

  • The leaderboards will display Weekly, Monthly, and Seasonal totals

Ranking and Unpredicted Outcomes

Ranking

Total Points are perpetual and determine overall ranking, with the highest score being the champion

Unpredicted Outcomes

  • Points will be lost if an outcome is not selected by any Callers within a club

i.e. - In the event that the Final Go-ahead Run occurs in the first inning, but was not selected by any Callers in a club, zero club-points are awarded for that category
